My journey from Banking to Construction isn’t just a career shift; it’s a natural evolution.
As Head of Lending Risk at Barclays, TSB Bank etc. I was responsible for assessing and funding for developments, ensuring they were built to last, long-term sustainability, construction quality, and overall impact.
Through this experience, I gained deep insight into the UK’s housing stock, much of which is aging, inefficient, and in need of modernisation. I saw firsthand how outdated homes drive up costs, waste energy, and fail to meet the evolving needs of homeowners and businesses. I developed a sharp eye for energy-efficient developments reduce long-term costs, enhance property value, and create smarter, more resilient spaces for both residential and commercial use.
By combining my financial expertise with a commitment to quality and sustainability, now I am partnering with Sukhraj with his hands-on experience in construction and development in Nirmaya Estates Limited, I ensure that every project is designed for efficiency, durability, and long-term value.

I started my journey in construction over 17 years ago, not from an office, but on-site, learning every trade with my own hands.
In 2007, I founded AK Constructions, and in 2022 I founded Build Our Home Limited where I spent over 15 years taking on everything from the basics of carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, brickwork, and plastering to full house renovations to loft conversions and extensions and New Builds.
I continue to be directly involved in every project, managing both the hands-on work and overseeing the business operations.
I am now joining forces with Charisma in Nirmaya Estates, to create homes and commercial spaces that are built to last, energy-efficient, and thoughtfully designed for modern living.
My approach isn’t about fancy jargon or over-promising; it's about delivering real results with reliability and solid workmanship.
Birth of Nirmaya Estates
The name Nirmaya originates from Sanskrit, meaning 'pure' and 'free from blemish.' It embodies the essence of perfection, integrity, and purposeful living, values that form the foundation of Nirmaya Estates.
Nirmaya Estates was born out of AK Constructions and Build Our Home Limited, leveraging over 15 years of solid experience in maintenance, construction and building. This expertise is combined with a deep understanding of viable property investments, shaped by the Banking Lending risk experience of one of its co-founders. This unique blend of construction excellence and financial insight allows Nirmaya Estates to approach real estate development with a keen eye on sustainability, cost efficiency, and long-term viability.
